1970 model, born on a small island in the northern part of Norway.
Amateur photographer who started out taking pictures in the mid 80’s. Like most people jumped on to the digital arena when they were introduced. The digital camera was what really got my interest into photography. Before that the camera was mostly used as a fun toy from time to time. got an IXUS in 2002 or so and upgraded first to a Nikon D60 and later to a full frame camera - The Nikon D700. The D700 was the camera that really got me hooked and thousands of thousands of images was caught on the memory cards.
Later, newer uprades found it’s way to my camera bag and today, the Nikon Z8 is my main digital camera. I love that camera too.
But a couple of years ago I felt the need for something else. The technology got better and better, both on the cameras itself but also in the editing software… and I got bored with it. Or rather, I didn’t get inspired at all. I took a lot of pictures, edited some of them, but had lost some of the joy.
The internet and social media was flooded with more or less perfect pictures from all over the world. Perfection everywhere you looked. Nothing out of place, pin sharp, detailed and close up. Extreme landscapes. Spectacular sunsets and auroras. The list goes on.
And there’s nothing wrong with that at all. I just got bored with it. I needed something else.
So I did the same thing a lot of others have done lately. I started to shoot with old analog cameras. I had my dads old 35mm camera from 1968, but also wanted to try something new. So I bought my first ever medium format camera. I paid around 45 dollars for an old Lubitel 2 TLR … and completely fell in love with medium format. Today the Lubitel is sitting on the shelf as a decoration and a reminder of how I got my joy of photography back.
These days I mainly shoot with my Hasselblad 500cm and my Nikon Fm2 and this website is kind of a journal of my return to film photography (even though I still shoot mostly digital).

FAQs
What film do you use?
I shoot a lot of different films, both color and black and white, but my favorite is actually one of the cheapest films, namely Kentmere 200.
How do you develop film?
I develop all my film at home using a darkroom bag and the usual chemicals for development. Both color and black & white. I also do darkroom prints on my DIY 3D printed enlarger.
Do you scan negatives yourself?
Yes, I scan my negatives using a high-resolution film scanner from Nikon. I have a Nikon Coolscan 8000ED. But I also use my digital camera to "scan" negatives from time to time, but only when I want to include the negative border of the film.
What cameras do you prefer?
My camera of choice is the Hasselblad 500cm. Mine was produced in 1974 and had only two owners before I got it. It was almost unused and looked like it had come straight from the factory. I also use my Nikon FM2 from time to time, but more as a "point-and-shoot" alternative for everyday pictures.
Why choose analog over digital photography?
I don't think you have to choose one over the other, but if you really want to really learn about photography, I think analog photography is the way to go.
